Silver Bracelet
Can you and how can you scrub gold plating off of a silver bracelet?
I have a bracelet stamped 925 with CZ (Silver with Cubic Zirconia I presume) and it is Gold Plated. The plating is all discolorerd and graying. I’d like to clean off the plating and just have the silver. Is there a way to do this?
This will have to be done by your local jeweler. The process is simply a reversal of the original plating process. The way jeweler is plated is having a beaker of gold plating solution then applying electricity to it. The way to remove plating is by having a beaker of electro stripping solution and reversing the electricity to it. This will pull the gold plating off the braclet and apply it on an anode (metal strip).
